Role Models

I have many role models in my life. Most of them are family but some are outside sources, people I have never met.
My number one role model is my father. He has gone through so much stuff and still continues to grab life by the horns. He overcomes all the obsticals in his life and still goes strong. He was in the National Guard, while he wasn't blowing up terrorists or anything really badass, he was stationed in Guatemala and helped build schools over there. (how cool would it be if he was Josue's dad). Not only that but he sacrifices so much to allow me to live comfortable.
My other roll model is both of my grandfathers. They have taught me a lot, like how to hunt/fish. If it wasn't for them as well, I would be a sissy like everyone else. They were the ones that took me hunting when my father was with my little brother. They are the ones that took me fishing on their boats and catching a fish and pretending they didnt, just to have me hold their pole and think that i caught it myself.
My last role model is Bam Margera, he is a total badass and when I was a kid I watched every episode of him on TV. He made me want to become the rebel without a cause that I am today. I truly believe that if it wasn't for Bam, I would be a little softy like the rest of the people.

Rae Sremmurd

Rae Sremmurd
Tucker Boynton

  • These brothers deliver some BANGERS. Khalif Brown and Aaquil Brown were born in Whittier, California, but moved to Tupelo, Mississippi at an early age. At one point in their life, they were actually homeless. Before they became Rae Sremmurd they were called Dem Outta St8 Boyz. They would just write raps and record videos and upload them to youtube. Never really receiving much attention up until P-Nasty's cousin told him about them. After that, P-Nasty called them up and told them to drop everything and meet him and Atlanta. After getting the Atlanta, they recorded two songs (both receiving little attention) but still ended up signing a record deal with ear drummers ent. On May 15th 2014 they released a single "No Flex Zone" which gained a lot of popularity because Nicki Minaj and Pusha T remixed it. The song climbed to #36 of the billboard top 100. On September 17th 2014, they released "No Type" which was ranked #16 on billboard top 100. These brothers know what they doing now, and they are going to continue to take over the rap game. They live by the was of Sremmlife, which is like having no care in the world, while playing it safe. This way of life is implemented in their lyrics.
  • "Bottles on bottles, free shots for everybody
Got enough for everybody, we crankin’ up the volume
Turn the music up louder, get loose and move your body
Get loose and move your body, we crankin’ up the volume

Safe sex and pay checks is what it's all about
    Don't forget about
    Safe sex and pay checks"
  • These lyrics are a great influence for teenagers. Instead of getting a girl pregnant and being poor the rest of your life, you can have safe sex, and keep your paychecks.

Katie Got Bandz

F Iggy Azalea, this chick means business. You can think that Iggy is all hot and stuff but this chick would beat her ass, literally and physically. She is a trap lord and "knows killas that will drop you quick." She never thought she would be a rapper until she met with Block On Da Trakk who is her cousin and he asked her to record a song with him. After they finished the song they recorded a video for it and recorded it to youtube. Katie was in jail on gun related charges when the music video dropped, when she got out, she was amazed at the popularity of the music video and decided to keep going in the rap scene. After quitting her job at McDonalds she signed with lawless records. A lot of her fans were scared that she was going to be a one hit wonder. She replied that she is going to be in the game for a long time, reassuring her fans. She also made a point saying that she isn't going to be like the rest of the female rappers, selling sex for popularity. She is going to keep it real and keep delivering the bangers that got her the fans in the first place.

Speaker Knockerz

Speaker Knockerz
review by: Tucker Boynton

Speaker Knockerz (Derek McAllister) is a rapper from South Carolina who hit fame through Youtube. The trilogy "Rico's Story" is what struck the gold for him, increasing his popularity. His rap style was very unique, with a great sense of story telling (as you can see from Rico's Story) He was reaching around 22 million views on his most popular song "lonely" when he passed away. He was 19, the cause of death was ruled a heart attack. Some rumors are that lean helped contribute to his heart attack. Speaker is one of my favorite singers, his lyrics are amazing, for example
"When I dropped out I said fuck all of yall
Imagin pulling up to your school in the best car
I was born in 94 I got the tattoo
I just took his bitch thats what that cash do
If you went from broke to rich quick you would brag too
I'm sorry I finnessed you out your money but I had too"

Spooky Black ~

Spooky Black
reviewed by; Tucker Boynton

Spooky Black, a 18 year old kid from Minnesota has taken the internet by storm. Singing to beats mastered by none other than "The Standard" Spook can fuse his lyrics to the beat giving you a feeling that is hard to explain. Some people say that he is more R&B, while some others say that it is rap. But one thing they all agree on is that Lil Spook is the next big thing. His music is showing what is really going on in his head, everything that has gone wrong with his life, all the girls that have fucked him over, and all of the girls that he has loved. The way that he fuses all of those into one track is completely mindblowing. With lyrics like this
"See my face when I slide through
Every place I will find you
Every time we fell apart
Girl I see it in the scars
Baby hold my hand, let me be your man
Let me take you away from the cold
Baby be my diamonds and gold
Wander through the dead with you caught up in my head
Thinkin Ima flip and fill my brain with lead
Ima end my life without you
Baby lets just see what these clouds do
I'm not so perfect baby yeah you worth it, come right here
[Hey]
Girl let me see you work it
Now we closin curtains, come right here"

These can speak to so many people and help influence people.

Yung Lean - Yoshi City ~ Bones - Curduroy

Yung Lean - Yoshi City
reviewed by; Tucker Boynton

This song is worded together like a god sent wool scarf. The many mario references will leave you entertained while also leaving the deeper meaning raw and ready to be took as you believe it to be. It also touches on how he is dealing with his depression, mostly resorting to smoking marijuana.  Some of the lines in this song could be took and put into one's own life. For example when Lean says "Be the only hope I got left//Blessed without success//Fuck stress I'm gonna be the best" If you take these and apply it to your life, you will learn who to keep around you, and who is dragging you down. These are the type of artists that everyone should listen too, they have a song for every mood. If you are depressed you can listen to "5th Element", If you are smoking with your friends you can just throw on "Yoshi City" and get lost in the tranquility of the beats perfectly mastered by greats such as gregar and yung gud. Lean has just recently been touring around the US (from Sweden).

Bones - Corduroy
reviewed by: Tucker Boynton

This is one of my personal favorite songs, the amount of energy Bones puts into this track is just insane. It will get your blood pumping, while also giving you a look inside his messed up life. This was written about his life back when he lived in Minnesota. He absolutely hated Minnesota, and you can tell by the power of this song. With lyrics like "Realtree Camo with the Carhartt blade//Came from the place where the hatred was made//Imma make you dark like its late in the day." These are just raw lyricism. If they dont make you get goosebumps there is something wrong with you!
